24th January 2010
Felpham Colts Youth Under 9’s got back to playing this Sunday with a 2nd Round Invitation Cup match away to Rustington Otters Youth. Our last match being a 2-1 defeat to the same team in the League six weeks earlier.
Felpham got off to a slow start with Rustington dominating the early stages of the match. After 5 minutes a weak long range effort found its way through the Felpham goalkeeper, Jack Lorimer, and it was 1-0 to Rustington.
Rustington continued to have the better of the match and Jack redeemed himself with a fantastic tip onto the bar from a powerful long range effort. Slowly Felpham fought their way back into the game creating several good chances but without managing to equalise.
The second half started with Felpham dominating possession. The midfield trio of LukeYates,Jordan Cane and Tom Woolcott running the game, and Felpham created a series of good chances to equalise. After 5 minutes of the second half Harry Wollers latched onto a through ball and calmly put the ball past the onrushing keeper to make it 1-1.
As the half went on Felpham continued to make good chances and when Tom Woolcott scored his first of the season with a fine long range effort it was no more than Felpham deserved.
Rustington committed more and more players forward to try and force the game into extra time, however the back pairing of Finlay Champion and Luke Lamprell remained solid and restricted Rustington to a few half chances which Sam Ellison in goal for the second half coped with well.
In the end it was a well deserved victory for Felpham after a great all round performance with every player playing a part.

Pulborough Pythons 1 Felpham Colts Youth 3
Sunday 14th February
Felpham Colts Youth continued their good recent form with a fine battling display away to Pulborough Pythons. Playing the first half with the sloping pitch in their favour Felpham started as the stronger team, creating several good early chances. Mid way through the first half Luke Yates picked up the ball on half way line and made a strong run into the Pulborough half before unleashing an unstoppable long range effort which gave the Pulborough keeper no chance.
Felpham continued to attack with Jordan Cane terrorising the Pulborough defence with a succession of runs down the right. It was a cross from one of these runs that Harry Wollers converted from close range to see Felpham go in 2-0 up at half time.
The second half started with Pulborough putting the Felpham defence under pressure but without managing to create clear cut chances. Felpham passed the ball well and continued to make a string of good goal scoring opportunities with Tom Woolcott and Jordan Cane both going close, but Felpham were unable to score the third goal which would have killed off the match. The Pulborough keeper pulling off several good saves.
With 2 minutes to go Pulborough fought their way back into the game pulling a goal back through Elliot Brown who had been Pulborough’s best attacking player. As Pulborough looked for a late equaliser Felpham caught them on the counter attack with Harry Wollers scoring his second of the day and 13th of the season with the last kick of the match.
In the end it was a great fighting performance from the whole team in the second half from Felpham to ensure 3 points away from home.
Team Jack Lorimer, Finlay Champion, Jordan Cane, Sam Ellison, Luke Yates, Tom Woolcott, Harry Wollers, Henry Fulcher.
MoM – Luke Yates for a fantastic strike.
Felpham Colts Youth achieved promotion to Division B with a fine 4-1 win over Felpham Athletic B.
With only seven players available for the game it was a battling second half performance to hold on against Athletic B until Sam Ellison scored a fourth goal to seal the win 5 minutes from time.

Bognor Regis Town Football Club
31st October 2010
Felpham Colts Under 10’s Youth team took part in a friendly 4 team tournament at the home of Bognor Town FC prior to their annual firework display.
It was a great atmosphere, and a big thrill for the boys to be playing under the floodlights and in front of a crowd of over 1000 spectators.
In the first game against Bognor Town B Felpham tool the lead when Finlay Champion scored his first ever goal for the club. Bognor equalised soon afterwards and the game was all set for a penalty shootout.
Luke Yates & Harry Wollers scored from the spot and when Jack Lorimer made a great save on Bognor third penalty it was all over with Felpham going through to the final against Bognor A
In the final a strong Bognor A team proved too much for Felpham running out 2-0 winners. However Felpham Youth did themselves proud on the night and a special mention goes to newcomers Oliver Perrin and Charlie Thurston.

Felpham Colts Youth 1 Whyke Utd. A 1
Felpham Colts Youth secured a well earned point against Div. B leaders Whyke Utd in a thrilling match at Kingsham School. An end to end first half saw Felpham take the lead when Ben Grieshaber found the net from short range mid way through the first half. It was a well deserved lead for Felpham who created a series of chances with the pace of Harry Wollers,Tom Woolcott and Sam Ellison causing Whyke problems.
Felpham knew that after the break Whyke would throw everything at them and that was exactly what happened. Whyke created a series of good scoring opportunities but failed to convert any of them with Luke Yates & Jordan Cane both having magnificent matches at the heart of the defence.. Whyke hit the bar and the post and with Ben Peach making a series of incredible saves it looked like Whyke might not find a way through. However six minutes from time Whyke finally found an equaliser with an unstoppable long range effort. It was backs to the wall defending for most of the last five minutes, but Felpham still looked dangerous on the counter attack and twice nearly found a winner on the break.
In the end a hard battling performance full of character earned Felpham a well deserved point against a fine Whyke Utd team. Felpham showed that they can compete with the best teams in the division as equals and with displays of this quality will soon see them start to climb up the table.
Man of the Match: No man of the match this week as we had 9 players worthy of the award.
Felpham: Ben Peach, Luke Yates, Jordan Cane, Tom Woolcott,
