Chairman’s Christmas Message

I would like to wish all of our Felpham Colts family –Players, Parents and Club Officials & Helpers; a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year of 2012.

2011 has been a successful year for our Club with teams representing us at all age groups from under 7 to under 18 with notably four teams at under 11 and three at under 18.

We have also introduced Men’s football to the club with a squad full of ex-Felpham Colts, or, at very least a Felpham Colts connection such as Coaches or Parents. The Men’s section already has two, nearly 3 teams exceeding all expectations.

A year ago I had loose plans to finally end my connection to Colts after 16 years by retiring from coaching the under 18’s! Imagine my surprise to find myself Chairman of our illustrious club 12 months later (Though my long suffering partner Lesley would say she is more surprised!).

I now want to lead the club forward to claim our rightful place as not only the best youth club in West Sussex, but the best club in the county.

We will do this by focusing predominantly on football. Our Director of Coaching, Martin Cox is keen to ensure we provide the best quality coaching experience to all of our Players at every level in the Club, and, that we help every individual girl, boy, woman or man to improve their ability to play the game.

As a family we need to be united…We are one club….and every member of Felpham Colts is important to us all.

2012 sees the 40th anniversary of the Club’s formation and in view of that landmark we are planning to enhance our superb annual six-a-side tournament and our fantastic presentation evenings in May. Our Management Committee will be talking to you about our plans in the new year.

I am extremely proud to serve this Club as Chairman and look forward to seeing you all during our 40th anniversary year and beyond! This time next year I intend to be working for our Club as Chairman ….!
