Report by Club Chairman Adam ‘Sumo’ Yates
I can sum up this years presentation in one word- WOW!! That’s it you don’t have to read anymore if you don’t want to, this word sums up the whole occasion.
Now for more specific words. Firstly I must take all of you to task. Everyone has thanked the committee for a great day (and rightly so) but thanks must also go to all of you- the Players, Parents, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Relatives and Friends of the club. Firstly it is your money that funds this great occasion, secondly if you don’t turn up we would be left with an empty tent and no atmosphere. A big big thank you to all that came along (and this was the best attendance we have ever had). Without you we would not be the largest and most successful Club on the South Coast.
Denise Yates- Has been my rock this year and might as well have been the Chairman with Liz and Emma. I know I don’t thank her enough (she might ask me for DIY in return!!) so thank you to my darling wife for all that she has done this year. It is appreciated.
The Bouncy Castle, Ice Cream stall and Sumo Suits provided hours of enjoyment for all and was well used throughout the day. Findon Marquee Hire deserve a mention for the great set up they provided.
DJ Mossey was a storm with the disco- he looked like he was at a rave in Ibiza with banging tunes, glow sticks and a packed dance floor. Mossey is a great friend of the club and didn’t want the night to end.
All the Manager and Coaches and Helpers did a great job of getting their teams organized and on time for presentations as well as all their efforts during the season so thank you from all of us to them. Paul Inskip and his team were on hand to provide all the Team Photographs.
Roy Eason- Many Thanks to Laura Brown for contacting Roy and getting him along. Roy presented prizes and thoroughly enjoyed himself meeting friends from the early days. He has put us right on some details of the history of the Club and I hope we can see him again and again from now on to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Seeing him there made my weekend. Neal Eason- This man is the boy that effectively started our Club off by asking his Dad to run a club. Many Thanks to Neal for coming along and the same applies to Neal as for his Dad- I hope we can see him again and again.
Jamie Howell- For a professional Football Manager to take time out to visit our club and present awards is a massive ask but Jamie was with us for most of the day and it was very much appreciated. Hopefully we can sit down with Jamie at some point to discuss stronger ties with Bognor Regis Town Football Club and Chelsea Football Club Academy.
Paul Jones- again for a professional Football player to take time out to visit our club and present awards is a massive ask but Paul was with us for Team presentations and it was very much appreciated.
Geordie Steve- I met him on the day and he was a fantastic parent who won cash prizes in the raffle and 100 club then promptly returned them to the Club- What a great bloke and I look forward to seeing him at the Van Giesen and Tournament again.
Emma and Jon Aylward- What can I say about these two- they are simply phenomenal. Most of what happened on Saturday was down to these two so a big thank you not only to them but their children who helped with clear up as well. Thanks also to the bar staff who made the evening run like clockwork.
Liz Conway- Absolutely fantastic effort from Liz and ably assisted in the beer drinking and curry eating department by her Husband Greg who just knows everybody in Felpham Colts FC. Thank you to them and their children who help with clear up days as well.
Adele Woosley- Wife of Jon Woosley of JW Sports and proud parent of James did a fantastic job during the clear up on the Sunday and worked like a Trojan to ensure that we get to have the same venue next year. Jon has been a solid supporter of Colts for years always supplying us the best equipment at the lowest prices and always helps out if we have a problem. Thank him next time your in his shop in Bognor.
2011 Presentation Party
After the last set of award were presented to the u18s, next up was Malcolm The Magician who went down a storm not only entertaining the younger children, but older ones and adults alike.
Lee Tanswell- Many thanks to Lee for all of his work to date. Lee is a paradox as he does so much complaining but loves all of the work he complains about. He loved the Generator so much this year that I am worried for his wife that he will take it home!
Chris Woolley- Always a rock to the Club and it is always a pleasure to know we have his approval of how the Club is going from season to season.
Adrian Pearson- Thanks to him and his wife Lisa for coming along as always to present awards. Thanks also for his efforts to organize referees for the season on behalf of the Club.
Paul English- Thanks to him and the council for all his support and coming along as always to present awards.
Thanks to all who came down on Sunday to clear away- I will not name you all but you know who you are and your efforts are always greatly appreciated.
Adam Yates - Chairman
Look forward to seeing you again in 2012.
