This year’s End of Season presentation was much the same as last year building on the success of 2009. As they say if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it.

Rumshack Entertainment did the honours again and another fine job they made as well. A change of location to Maggies Meadow in Felpham greatly improved the playing facilities for the kids in between presentations. We again thank Richard Borrer and Ian Gibbs for all their efforts and support of the club.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman presided over the awards and  a massive thank you to Michael Ladbrook for all his efforts who helped the day run like clockwork.

The glorious weather helped and the first presentations were underway at 9.00am presided over once again by Chairman Adam Yates and Vice-Chairman Michael Labdrook with Flora Harding on hand to present the trophies.

The last Presentation of the day, the Chairman’s Trophy was held over until the evening and presented to the outgoing secretary Keeley Embleton in recognition for all of the hard work and fantastic support she has provided during her time in the job. Thanks Keeley!

Food and hot beverages were available from the BBQ outside whilst the bar was open early for some liquid refreshment and with MEP Photography on hand to take the all important individual and team photographs.

Outside, a football pitch had been set up for the children to occupy themselves before and after their presentation and proved very popular with all age groups.

Numerous dignitaries had been invited to attend to help present trophies and it was good to see so many turn up during the course of the day. Justin Simpson and Fran Watson of Inspire Leisure who has done so much for the club. Paul English of Felpham Parish Council who, as a member of the Arun Grants Committee helps with fundraising for the enviable facilities in the village. Chris Wooley popped along as he does every event and it was great to have him present trophies to the under 15’s Girls Team as he was instrumental in forming them at under 7’s.

Finally at around 7pm the last set of awards were completed and thought turned to the evening party. The Hog Roast had been slowly cooking all day, the bar had been open since 10 in the morning and the disco had arrived and was set up. It was fantastic to see so many turn up and taking advantage of the late evening sunshine to stroll around or just sit and relax.

A chance to meet some old friends and have a chat before the disco got into full swing and time to get the dancing shoes on. Once again the evening was a huge success and it was good to see so many people enjoying themselves, Managers, Coaches, Players and Parents alike.

Look forward to seeing you in 2011.
